WHAT IS THE LARC REPORTING INCUBATOR?
The LARC Reporting Incubator is a paid training opportunity for first-time reporters to produce hyperlocal story. The stories are distributed by local partners like KCRW, LAist, KCHUNG and LA Public Press.
Each month, a different reporter supported by a team of experienced mentors to make a 5 minute piece over the course of the four week program. Through getting hands-on experience and having their pieces distributed across various outlets, the emerging reporters are able to get their foot in the door: Previous participants have gone on to become ongoing contributors to the partner outlets and have landed full-time jobs because of their participation.
